SUMMARY:Webinar: Fatigue - a safety concern
DESCRIPTION:Fatigue – a safety concern\nAlmost every study puts anaesthesiologists in the top five specialties with the highest prevalence of burnout syndrome. A combination of demanding patient responsibilities and long working hours with sleep deprivation can be quite strenuous. There are publications about fatigue management for residents and fellows. Many European countries have laws to limit working hours and mandatory rest time\, but it is often unclear how those are implemented. \nWebinar Scientific Faculty \nHost  \nIoana Grigoras (RO)\nDepartment of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care\, „Grigore T. SUMMARY:TARK2023
DESCRIPTION:Dear Colleagues\, \nI am honored and happy to invite you to our 57th congress\, which we have always attributed meaning beyond a congress\, which gained even more meaning in the 100th anniversary of our Republic. \nIn the information age\, we will experience the excitement of being able to follow the dizzying developments in our field of Anesthesiology and Reanimation\, which changes and develops faster than all fields of science\, and to share information together at our congress. In addition to this\, we are in the preparations for a social program in which we will quench our longing in the remaining time\, experience the happiness of being together and meet with art. \nDespite the difficulties we are experiencing\, we are preparing a scientific program that includes all subjects related to the science of Anesthesiology and Reanimation\, especially education and sustainability\, which we all care about. I believe that TARK 2023 will turn into a science feast with your valuable contributions as well as the knowledge and experience sharing of our valuable professors who are competent in their fields\, who will convey the current developments in our field of science\, and foreign speakers with high awareness in their fields of interest. In addition\, our young colleagues will have the opportunity to improve themselves with the courses and simulations to be held within the scope of the congress. \nOur goal is to further increase the number of international participants in TARKs and to carry our knowledge and experience beyond our country’s borders. In line with the goals of TARD\, which takes internationalization as its mission\, our congress will be colorful with dozens of participants from Europe\, the Balkan countries\, the Turkic world and neighboring countries. \nAs in every congress\, the industry stands that will take place in our congress will provide the participants with the opportunity to follow the current technological developments in our field of science and to examine the technological opportunities offered by the industry on site. \nWe are all very excited to be celebrating the 100th anniversary of our Republic this year. Starting from the generations that will carry our Republic to many centuries\, we have determined our congress motto\, which we have chosen among your suggestions\, as “Light to 100s\, with Bright Faces”. In accordance with our motto\, which is hidden in its meaning\, at our congress\, we will feel the enthusiasm of the 100th anniversary of our Republic\, our most fundamental value\, which is entrusted to our Ata\, in almost every breath. \nHoping to meet you at TARK2023\, which will be held at Antalya Kaya Palazzo Hotel between 2-5 November 2023 to experience the excitement of sharing information together\, I look forward to your participation and offer my most heartfelt love and respect. \nprof. SUMMARY:The First International Congress of Anesthesiologists and Intensivists of Montenegro
DESCRIPTION:The first Congress of anesthesiologists and intensivists of Montenegro will be remembered as a unique gathering of experts and professionals from various fields of anesthesia and treatment of critically ill patients in intensive care units\, which is being held for the first time in our independent country. Through lectures and workshops led by these prominent experts\, discussions within the sessions that will follow each of them\, we will get to know the latest guides\, attitudes\, guidelines\, and\, using their valuable experience\, we will work together towards the same goal\, implement new standards and improve our daily clinical practice. Anesthesia and intensive therapy of critically ill patients is a field of medicine that is constantly developing\, and this kind of cooperation is something that we have lacked until now\, and we believe that through the continuity of such events in the future we will maintain openness towards the region and the world and in this way\, through our training\, building experience according to the latest standards\, to provide our patients with safe and quality treatment in our country.

SUMMARY:16th World Intensive and Critical Care Congress (WICC)
DESCRIPTION:Dear Colleagues\, \nOn behalf of the organizing committee\, I am delighted to invite you to the 16th World Intensive and Critical Care Congress (WICC)\, which will take place on August 26-30\, 2023\, in Istanbul. \nThe aging population\, high-risk therapies\, disasters\, accidents\, wars\, terrorism attacks\, immigration\, and pandemics all significantly burden the capacity of intensive care medicine. So far\, the intensive care community in the economically advanced countries has acquired enormous expertise in caring for all kinds of critically-ill patients. However\, intensive care resources still need to be improved in many parts of the World. Our mission should be to broaden our scope to consider all of the World’s critically ill patients and intensive care professionals to bridge the gap for a better future in intensive care medicine. \nThe COVID-19 pandemic has recently been a big challenge for humankind and the global intensive care community. The pandemic emphasized the fact that multi-professional dedicated human resource is the most crucial factor in the practice of intensive care medicine. After a four-year break in the World Intensive and Critical Care Congresses\, full of hard work and emotional burden\, now it is time for intensive care professionals from around the globe to come together to share knowledge and experience. In bridging the continents\, Istanbul will contribute to this mission of bridging the gap by hosting the 16th World Intensive and Critical Care Congress in 2023. \n“Istanbul\, Aug 26-30\, 2023” is very special for the World and for Turkiye. \nIstanbul has a unique meaning in the history of intensive care medicine. Florence Nightingale\, one of the founders of intensive care medicine\, known as “the lady with the lamp\,” spent two years in Istanbul during the Crimean War in the 1850s to organize a nursing unit in the Selimiye Military Barracks to care for the wounded soldiers from the Crimean battlefront. She was able to reduce the mortality rate by more than 20 times. \n27th of August is accepted as the birthday of Intensive Care Medicine\, as Bjorn Ibsen performed the first tracheostomy and manual positive pressure ventilation in 1952 to save the life of a young quadriplegic girl in severe respiratory failure suffering from acute poliomyelitis. This new method was estimated to have saved 100 lives within the first three months of the pandemic. \n2023 is a festive year for Turkey\, as it is the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic. In fact\, Aug 30 is the Turkish Victory Date. \nTherefore\, we are very excited and motivated to perform a high-quality congress\, both scientifically and socially\, featuring gender\, age\, profession\, and national diversity. \nIntensive care saves lives! As Global Intensivists\, let us celebrate the birthdates of Intensive Care Medicine and Turkiye together in Istanbul on 26-30 August 2023. \nWe are looking forward to meeting you and hope your stay to be valuable and meaningful.  \nProf. Dr. Arzu Topeli\, MD\, MSc \nCongress Chair
