Balkan Anesthesia Platform Hosts BAP-Webinar 3 on Women in Anaesthesiology
On January 22, 2025, the Balkan Anesthesia Platform (BAP) will hold its third webinar, “Women in Anaesthesiology: Individual Responsibility or Society Oppression.” This online event will explore the challenges women face in the field of anaesthesiology, tackling issues such as career advancement barriers, emotional labor, and imposter syndrome.
The session will begin with an opening speech from Prof. Dr. Meral Kanbak (Turkey). The discussion will be chaired by Assoc. Prof. Vesna Durnev (North Macedonia) and Prof. Dr. Federico Bilotta (Italy).
Key presentations include:
- Prof. Dr. Idit Matot (Israel) on the barriers to career advancement faced by women anesthesiologists.
- Prof. Dr. Jülide Ergil (Turkey) discussing the emotional labor burden in the profession.
- Prof. Dr. Sarah Saxena (Belgium) addressing imposter syndrome in anaesthesiology.
- Prof. Dr. Marija Sholljakova (North Macedonia) sharing her personal experiences as a woman in the field.
