Citizens Hospital has announced a 6-month Pain Management Fellowship set to commence in July 2025, offering specialized training for medical professionals in the field of pain management. A fully funded scholarship, sponsored by the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA), will be available for the selected fellow.
This prestigious fellowship will provide hands-on experience at Citizens Hospital, under the supervision of local faculty and visiting experts. The scholarship will cover tuition fees, accommodation, and basic living expenses for the duration of the program.
Eligibility & Application Criteria
The program is open to registered medical practitioners who meet the following criteria:
- Must be eligible for temporary registration with India’s National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Must have backing from their national anaesthesiology society, which must be a WFSA member in good standing.
- Must be supported by their hospital management or head of department.
- Must commit to returning to their home country to serve in a recognized medical post.
- Preference will be given to those working in teaching hospitals.
In addition to applying for the WFSA fellowship, candidates must also secure an Indian visa to participate in the program.
Application Process & Deadline
Interested candidates must submit their applications via the WFSA online application platform by Friday, 28th February 2025.
Applicants should:
- Register/login on the platform.
- Select ‘Start application’ under the ‘All other WFSA Awards’ category.
- Choose ‘Fellowships’ as the Chapter and ‘Hyderabad Pain Management Fellowship 2025’ as the Category.
Required documents include:
- Curriculum vitae (CV) with a recent photo.
- A recommendation letter from their national anaesthesiology society.
- Two additional recommendations from their head of department, hospital management, mentor, or a colleague (submitted online).
- Copies of their medical degree and specialist anaesthesiology qualification.
Selection & Notification
A panel of anaesthesiologists will assess applications, and shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. The final selection results will be communicated via email by the end of March 2025.
Selected fellows must confirm their acceptance within five days of receiving the notification. Failure to do so will result in the spot being offered to another candidate.
