The World Congress of Anaesthesiologists (WCA) 2024 concluded with a record number of scholarships awarded to anaesthesiologists worldwide. A total of 65 in-person scholarships and 93 virtual scholarships were granted through the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA), thanks to contributions from partner organizations.
The five-day WCA Congress in Singapore featured a diverse program, including scientific discussions, interactive workshops, and networking events, bringing together experts and emerging professionals to discuss advancements in anaesthesia and patient care.
WCA Scholarships: Expanding Opportunities for Anaesthesiologists
The impact of these scholarships has been far-reaching, with recipients reporting significant professional growth:
- Advancements in Patient Care – Scholars gained exposure to new techniques and research, improving their clinical skills and enhancing treatment outcomes.

- Research & Innovation – More than 70% of scholars presented posters or abstracts, contributing valuable insights to global anaesthesia research.

WCA 2026 Set for Marrakech, Morocco
Following the success of the Singapore event, the 19th World Congress of Anaesthesiologists will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, from April 15-19, 2026.
