Under the supervision of Prof Dr Marijana Karisik, president of DAICG,The First Congress of Anesthesiologists and Intensivists of Montenegro will be remembered as a unique gathering of experts and professionals from various fields of anesthesia and treatment of critically ill patients in intensive care units, which was held for the first time in Montenegro. The Minister of Health, Dragoslav Šćekić , opened the congress. The minister particularly emphasized the invaluable role of anesthesiologists and intensivists in medicine, which, as he said, is “irreplaceable and goes beyond the operating room.” He once again emphasized the importance of the congress for anesthesia, resuscitation and intensive care specialists, which, according to him, is “an opportunity for Montenegrin anesthesiologists and intensivists, for the first time, to show their results and successes and through cooperation with their colleagues from the region and beyond international position in this area. The ultimate goal is certainly the same for all of us, which is to advance and improve the quality of treatment for our patients . ”
